1967 - Stoltzfus Trailer Sales was established on a farm about four miles west of Honey Brook, Pa.
1968 - A 2nd Location was started on Route 202 next to the Birmingham diner.
1978 - We bought the 14 acres of property where we are now. We improved the property and built the first building. The size of the building was 100' x 60'. At this point, we also, departmentalized our company into sales, service, and parts departments.
1987 - Boats were added to our product line. At this point, we were one of very few combined RV's & Boat dealerships.
In November of 1990, we had a terrible fire. We lost the total building and 37 units, some RV's, some boats. It was a very bad experience. We rebuilt and moved into our new 36,000 sq. ft. building on April 15, 1991. We also acquired a large amount of new specialized equipment and a new computer network with 44 terminals. This new equipment has enhanced our office efficiency.
1991 - Earl Stoltzfus won RV Quality Dealer of the Year Award, a highly recognized nation award by (RVDA) recreation Vehicle Dealers Association and RV Business, a magazine published by Trailer Life.
1992 - Earl Stoltzfus won Quality Boat Dealer of the Year, a highly recognized national award by Boat and Motor Dealer Magazine.
1998 - Was a record setting year for Stoltzfus. Thanks to the great product lines that we represent, and thanks to the large number of customers that have bought from and referred other people to us along the way we made hundreds of new friends and added tremendously to our customer base.
The year 2000 was our best ever. We had a 15% increase over 1999. We up-graded our computer system with the latest technology. We continue to find ways to operate efficiently, and therefore, we are very competitive. Also thanks to our many good employees that work as a team to help us to have happy customers. We updated and up-graded our website. We are very excited about that. Please check it out at www.stoltzfus-rec.com. We added a Campground for customers to stay overnight with electric hookup. This is great-added service for our customers.
The year 2001 was a good year but we did not have the growth that we had in 2000. We added more usable display space in the back, leveling the ground, and put tiers in. Then we added steps to the lower level. We also added a new portable boat lift.
With a growth rate 18%, 2002 was another great year for Stoltzfus RV's and Marine. We also made a momentous change in the structure of our company. Earl Stoltzfus, our owner, instituted an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP). As part of this major undertaking, Earl sold just over 50% of the company shares to the ESOP. Rom this point forward, the employees will be allocated shares of company stock as they become vested owners in the company. This plan will be a great benefit to our employees and will contribute to our company's long-term growth and stability.
2003 was another great growth year fro Stoltzfus RV's and Marine. We had a 22% growth. We want to thank all our customers for their business. We have increased all our training programs for our sales, service, and parts personnel. This has been a good investment for our company.
